How much is delivery to my area?
R50 Delivery Fee

A R50 delivery applies to Atlantic Seaboard, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs (excl. the Deep South) and the City Bowl.

R100 Delivery Fee

A R100 delivery fee applies to St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, Clovelly, Glencairn, Simonstown, Noordhoek and Kommetjie.

R150 Delivery Fee

A R150 delivery fee applies to the Helderberg and Stellenbosch areas.

Delivery Fee Surcharges

Deliveries on weekends or public holidays may incur a higher delivery fee.

When will I receive my order?

Orders will be processed within one working day and added to the next available delivery schedule for your area.

Cut off time for next-day delivery (should we be delivering to your area) is 1pm. Please refer to the delivery table above for more detail.

What happens if I’m not home during the time of delivery?

In the event that no-one is at home during the delivery period, we will return your frozen meal to our kitchen. We will attempt to deliver it to your specified address again as part of the next available delivery schedule. Please note that an additional delivery charge may be applicable should this be the case.

What should I do if the scheduled delivery time and date does not suit me?

Please contact us directly on info@giaskitchen.co.za. and we'll do our best to reschedule your delivery to a more suitable date.

I can’t find my suburb in your list of delivery areas. What do I do?

If you can’t find your suburb as a specified delivery area, please contact us on info@giaskitchen.co.za. We will do our best to have your order delivered to you. Kindly note that we do not deliver further than the Stellenbosch area.

Can I collect my order?

We are primarily a delivery service, and do not have a brick and mortar store. That being said, if you would prefer to forgo the delivery fee, please contact us directly on info@giaskitchen.co.za to order and arrange collection from our kitchen. 

What is the difference between Flash Frozen meals and catering?
Flash Frozen Meals

Our frozen range of meals can be ordered directly from this website by simply adding the items you want to your cart and checking out. Your order will automatically be scheduled for delivery according to where you live. 

Our frozen meals are freshly cooked and flash frozen - a process that locks in the nutrients and flavour. 

Boutique Catering

Our boutique, fresh catering service can be discussed and ordered through us via email or WhatsApp. You can order off our extensive catering menu (available to view on the "Catering" page) and tailor a menu to your needs. 

What are the catering criteria?
A couple of things...

You can find all our catering ts and cs on our catering menu, however a couple of important points to note:

  1. A min order of R1500 is required.
  2. Our smallest size feeds between 8-10 people.
  3. We require at least 4 days notice to cater your event.
  4. A 50% deposit is required if the order is placed more than 5 days in advance, otherwise 100% upfront payment is required. 

How do I defrost my meals?

Every single one of our frozen meals will be delivered with thawing and heating instructions. In general, you will need to allow each dish to thaw naturally or otherwise overnight in the fridge. Once completely defrosted, the meals are ready to heat and eat. Simply follow the instructions on each dish and enjoy!

What’s the difference between thawing and defrosting?

Defrosting simply means ‘to remove ice.’ Instead of trying to defrost the dishes at a fast and potentially unhealthy rate, it is better to rather thaw the meals, allowing them to naturally change from a frozen to unfrozen state. Before frozen cooked foods can be consumed, they need to be defrosted and the healthiest and safest way to do this is through the thawing process.

I want to eat my frozen Gia’s Kitchen meal today. How long do I need to wait for it to thaw?

Thawing time will vary according to the weight and density of each dish. It is safest to allow dishes to thaw naturally overnight (we recommend that you take the dish out of the freezer and place in the fridge the day before consumption) or alternatively take a meal out of the freezer in the morning and allow it to sit outside the fridge (not in direct sunlight) until it is fully defrosted. Once the dish is defrosted it can be stored in the fridge until ready to heat.

How long do the dishes last once thawed?

The dishes will last up to three days in the fridge after they have been thawed.

How long will the meals last in my freezer?

The meals will last between 1 to 3 months in the freezer.

How do I register an account?

Click on the “My Account” icon in the upper right-hand corner of the website. Follow the instructions to register your account and confirm its authenticity through the confirmation email sent to your provided email address. Your details will be stored safely on our system once you have registered and you can easily log in in by using your email address and password.

I’m having technical difficulties. Who do I contact?

Please email us on info@giaskitchen.co.za so that we can resolve your issue as quickly as possible.
